How to Clean and Organize Your Fridge

April 30, 2021

Organize your fridge

Anyone else fridge get out of hand at times? Even after you organize your fridge sometimes it can just get out of hand so quickly.

I know I’m guilty of just shoving things in there if I’m in a hurry or forgetting to toss the leftovers when I’m supposed to.  But, the worst is when you complete forgot something was even in there!

That’s why it’s important to Deep clean and organize your fridge, even if it seems like a daunting task.

How to Clean Your Washing Machine | Both Front Load and Top Load

April 29, 2021

How to Clean Your Washing Machine

Has cleaning your washing machine ever been on your cleaning list?

Confession time, I never did until around the time I was married.  Washing a washing machine always sounded silly to me, it’s a machine that washes things, shouldn’t it just keep itself clean by default?!

It reminds me of that FRIENDS episode where Joey and Chandler discover they use the same bar of soap in the shower and Chandler says that soap is self cleaning!

Anyone remember that episode?

Then Joey points out the order with which you wash in the shower.  “The first place you wash and the last place I wash” line that has me hysterically laughing every time I hear it.  Then you see the lightbulb turn on for Chandler!

That was me when I realized you really should wash your washing machine.

Force Of Nature Cleaning Review | Electrolyzed Cleaner

April 28, 2021

electrolyzed cleaner

I’m obsessed with this cleaner.  I have two young kids at home and absolutely hate cleaning with harsh chemicals.  I wasn’t always like this though; once I had kids I really started to look into ingredients of things I used!   It wasn’t until the past 6 months that I had even heard of an electrolyzed cleaner like Force of Nature.

I understand there may be a time and place for the use of things like bleach (like what happened to my washing machine).  However, I try to exhaust all other options before going down that road.

Let me tell you a story, When the pandemic hit, like most everyone else, I cleaned an excessive amount with some strong cleaners that had equally strong chemicals.  I hated it, but didn’t know what would and wouldn’t work to keep my family safe, so I defaulted to those cleaners.  Having not used these kinds of cleaners for quite some time, I immediately noticed two things.

  1. First, some of the cleaners aggravated my asthma (not good) so I went through different brands without much luck
  2. Second, you could just feel the cleaners in the air and not in a ‘oh that’s clean’ good way.

How to Strip Your Sheets | Laundry Stripping

April 27, 2021

Laundry stripping recipe

Today I am talking about something I only recently started doing and immediately fell in love with.  It’s called laundry stripping, or in this particular case, stripping the sheets. I have the laundry stripping recipe I use below!

Has any tried to strip their sheets before?

I recently did for the first time and I have to say, I was shocked at how dirty my freshly washed sheets ended up being.  By the time I was done with soaking them the water was visibly dirty, and I had started with freshly washed sheets!

It is something I have added to my cleaning rotation a few times a year.

BUUTT, If you’re like I was when I first heard about it, I’m sure you have questions! Hopefully you will find your answers here along with a super easy laundry stripping recipe that I use!

Where to Start Cleaning your House – When you’re Overwhelmed with Mess

April 26, 2021

Where to Start Cleaning your House

It’s finally spring, which means Spring Cleaning!

If I’m being honest, I have a love hate relationship with cleaning.  On one hand I love a clean house (I mean who doesn’t, right?!) but I also find if the house goes a few days off of my “schedule” I feel the overwhelm of “where do I start cleaning” set in.

Anyone else?

After both of my kids were born, I struggled with keeping a schedule to clean the house.  Which resulted in an overwhelming mess for me many times.  I’m all for leaving the dishes in the sink so you can play with your kids because they are only little once, don’t get me wrong, but eventually those dishes do need to get clean.

If you sat there and thought to yourself, that’s me! Then this post is for you.

How to Clean When You Don’t Even Know Where to Start Cleaning

First things first, here are some things to keep in mind when jumping into the overwhelm.

Must Have Items When Combating Cold & Flu Season

February 20, 2019

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc., Abreva, Emergen-C, Lipton, Robitussin and Theraflu. All opinions are mine alone. #SickDayTips #CollectiveBias

Hi Everyone!

Many of you know that I almost spent last Christmas in the Hospital because a cold set off my asthma.  I dealt with the aftermath of that episode for 6 months before I was back to “normal” with being able to breath.  So, when it’s that time of year when everyone and their mother is sick I am on high alert and I don’t mess around.  I keep items I may need on hand, because running to the store when your sick just spreads the problem. That’s why I try and take preventative measures to help fight off any illness that myself or my family may come in contact with.

As many of you know I am Pregnant and I have consulted with my doctor about what I am and am not able to take.  However, I still wanted to share with you what my Husband (and myself absent being pregnant) would typically do.  Plus, I wanted to share items that you may want to have stocked up on hand prior to getting sick. Here’s What I keep on hand!

Why I Ditched the Traditional Dryer Sheet |Dryer Sheet Alternative

January 11, 2019

Hi Everyone!

As many of you know I try and stay on the more natural side of things (for the most part). I try to avoid the harsh chemicals (especially with a new one on the way) and love my essential oils. So when I was sent Sunshine Farm’s Dryer sheet spray I was definitely intrigued.

Why I love Decorating with Silk Flowers | Not Just your Grandma’s Decorations

November 29, 2018

Hi Everyone!

I’m a huge fan of flowers.  I love how pretty they are and how they can change the entire feel of a room.  The only problem I have is that I’m pretty much allergic to most flowers and trees.  I actually often joke that I’m allergic to Earth at times. As many of you know last December I had a huge asthma episode that landed me in the hospital so if I want flowers inside my home they have to be fake flowers. [Read more…]
